The scientific team of Murmansk Marine Biological Institute with pain and deep regret learned about the untimely demise of one of the most prominent zoologists and parasitologists of Russian science, a remarkable teacher and an extraordinary man Andrey Aleksandrovich Dobrovolsky.

All employees of MMBI, who studied at St. Petersburg State University, as well as internships under the guidance of Andrey Aleksandrovich and worked with him in the field of science, even after many years remember his pedagogical skills, amazing erudition and personal charm, many proudly consider himself to his students. Andrey Aleksandrovich was always ready to help determine the choice of the future scientific path for each student and graduate student, to provide support for any difficulty, to give the necessary advice at the first appeal. The creative potential of Andrey Aleksandrovich amazed with inexhaustible ideas, and at the same time, he could masterfully present important scientific questions in a form accessible to the widest audience.
