MMBI PARASITOLOGISTS REPORTED AT THE VI CONGRESS OF PARASITOLOGICAL SOCIETY AT THE RAS

From the 15th to 19th of October, the All-Russian Conference with International Participation "Modern Parasitology - Major Trends and Challenges (VI Russian National Congress of the Parasitological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences)", organized by the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg State University and Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. The conference was attended by leading parasitologists working in research institutes and universities of Russia, as well as foreign experts. In addition to the plenary sessions, the Congress conducted work on 12 thematic sections on the main areas of modern parasitology, as well as two poster sessions. The staff of the laboratory of ornithology and parasitology of MMBI V.V. Kuklin (“The helminth fauna of birds of the Alcidae family of the Barents Sea: composition and formation paths”) and M.M. Kuklina ("Localization of tapeworms in the small intestine of the herringbird (Larus argentatus)"). Reports of Murmansk experts have aroused great interest from colleagues - specialists in marine parasitology - from St. Petersburg, Magadan and Vladivostok, from which they have offered to cooperate in the study of the ecology and molecular biology of seabird helminths.
